Hi, I'm
Lineke Haydock
My varied career and life experiences have given me rich insights into people’s personal, parenting and career challenges. It has made me passionate about bringing coaching into all areas of life and to all age groups. Whoever and wherever you are, coaching can help you to reinforce what is good in your life and manage and deal with that which is challenging.
My background has helped me to understand the impact of change and the need for resilience.
My personal journey
Before my coaching journey I studied journalism at Rhodes University and started work in the world of magazines, working for several publications before moving to the UK in 2001. There I worked as a senior account manager with major London publishers and Far East printers.
During that time, I was deeply impacted by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, which claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, including many of my colleagues. It brought home to me how fragile and precious time is and how important it is not to waste it.
I returned to South Africa in 2006 to start a family and worked as a freelance translator and copy editor. I spent three years at a rapidly growing and dynamic young technology company, focusing on developing the professional and personal lives of its employees during a period of great change for them. I am also the parent of two rapidly developing humans, who offer me daily on-the-job centring practice!
Coaching credentials
I have worked with leaders in the education and media fields, up-and-coming stars in the technology sphere, entrepreneurs, lawyers, school-leavers and parents. My own varied background and rigorous coach training help me to partner with you, no matter where you find yourself today. Together, we work in practical and achievable ways to enhance your ability to bring more clarity and ease into your life.
I am a credentialed coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and trained through UCT’s Centre for Coaching, in a comprehensive, 18-month accredited coach training programme. ICF coaches are held to very high professional and ethical standards and this is reflected in my coaching work.
I use the Integrative Enneagram to help you achieve fast, meaningful insights. Getting to know your motivations for your unique patterns is deeply empowering and opens many doors for development, even after our coaching partnership has ended.
I am also a Leadership Embodiment Associate. This means that I can help you to develop simple body-based practices to use in your professional and personal life, to help you handle stress, pressure and conflict with confidence, compassion and ease.
